Hey there,
This is the beginning of a series I’ve wanted to make for awhile, where I share excerpts from my personal journals.
Why? Because I think a lot of the things I write there will be helpful to you too, and if nothing else, they’ll be a nice gift for my family after I’m gone. To see the things I wrestled with, the thoughts I had, and a glimpse into my private (well, not anymore) ponderings.
I’ll only share the ones I think are useful, and I’ll share them as raw and unedited as possible, (while respecting the privacy of my family and friends).
If any of these get good feedback, maybe I’ll consider rewriting them as longer essays to share as well.
This is the first entry of many, I hope you enjoy.

If I’m not careful my life will pass me by. My time will be sucked down the black hole of distraction.
All the cliches are true:
Life is short
Time does fly when you’re having fun
The kids do grow up too fast
It’s never been harder to enjoy the now, and live in the moment. Years of our lives are stolen, decades in fact, by glowing glass.
And how much more than the time, that we can’t even quantify?
How many laughs, conversations, peaceful moments, or quiet walks to think deeply?
Stay vigilant.
Don’t let the virtual world blind you from what really matters.
